Beer Meets Biodiversity
In partnership with Yakima Chief Hops, Deep South Brewing and Moo Brew, we have brewed a special beer that will raise funds for the GSRF’s conservation efforts and spotlight the importance of protecting marine biodiversity.
A Toast to Tomorrow’s Ocean
This collaboration isn’t just about creating a product; it’s about connecting the dots between land and sea in a shared narrative of environmental responsibility.
By supporting the GSRF, we’re contributing to a global movement to protect this vital system, ensuring our planet’s resilience and biodiversity for generations to come.
Brewed for salty days
This West Coast Pilsner pays homage to Yakima Chief Hops’ newest available variety, Krush™ HBC 586, and is created to be a thirst-quenching, refreshing beer ideal after being either in, on, around or even just thinking of the ocean. Bright, clean and refreshingly balanced, with some of those tropical citrus notes synonymous with Krush™.
Low Impact, High Purpose
Every element of this beer has been thoroughly considered, from finished product to environmental impact the collaborators have used advanced hops products, in house cultured yeast, 100% recyclable products as well as a strategy to reduce the carbon footprint of this beer and all aimed at making a positive environmental difference.
For the Love of the Ocean
“What brings this all together, is that we all grew up either in, on, or around the ocean and to this day still have strong connection with the coastal waterways of Tasmania, as we pass these experiences and passion on to the next generation it’s important to not only enjoy the benefits but understand the ecosystem and the stewardship required to ensure this amazing environment is in its best condition for future generations. Can’t help but feel that this beer is personal,” Burridge says.
The Ripple Effect
On behalf of Yakima Chief Hops, we believe that sustainability extends far beyond the boundaries of our farm. Whether on land or in the water, our planet needs our collective attention and care. Even though we’re miles apart from the vast, beautiful oceans abroad, the connection between the ecosystems we support—whether it’s the hops we grow or the marine life we aim to protect—is undeniable.
As a grower-owned company, YCH is made up of farmers who genuinely care about the land they tend to. They are mindful of every input used in their fields because they understand the far-reaching effects of their practices. If left unchecked, harmful agricultural inputs can make their way into nearby tributaries, eventually flowing into larger bodies of water and reaching the oceans. It’s this deep awareness—and the understanding that land and sea are intrinsically connected—that drives our commitment to sustainable farming and keeps us focused on the bigger picture.
